Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Alex and Chace are back with another week of podcasts! Today, they look at each NHL Teams Christmas wishlist. Going through each division and giving one thing the team should be wishing for into 2023 to finish this season. For some, it may be a little more lighthearted. However, for other teams, it may be something much bigger, such as the first overall pick.
The guys use this exercise to hit on some larger topics around the league. Topics that include the Ottawa Senators extending defenceman Artyom Zub. Alex explains why he likes this deal so much and what he thinks is next for this Sens team. Overall, they touch on all 32 teams and give something that they would be asking for this Christmas. Now it will be time to see how many come true. Tune in for all of this and more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

Alex Ovechkin 800 Goals, Anaheim Ducks are Bad, Flames Struggling and More
Friday Dec 16, 2022
Friday Dec 16, 2022
The guys are back with another week of content. Today, they have plenty to discuss. Starting with the Washington Capitals and an Alex Ovechkin goal record. The guys discuss him hitting 800 goals on Tuesday night, as well as how he is about to become second all-time in goals scored. They then shift to how quickly can he catch Wayne Gretzky. Admiring that the conversation has switched from "can he at all?" to "when will it happen?"
After that, the guys switch their focus to the Anaheim Ducks. Alex digs into some stats that aren't very encouraging as the guys examine how this season has gone so wrong. No one expected them to be great, but they are on pace to be one of the worst teams of the salary cap era. Alex is also concerned about the Calgary Flames recent play, although it is just a few games of sample. Still, they do not look like the Flames of last year, and that could be an issue.
Tune in for all of this and much more, with the MnM Hockey Podcast!

From there, they switch to the Columbus Blue Jackets and what their season has been like. It was revealed this week that Jakob Vorachek may not play again this season. The guys start to wonder what that means for his career as a whole. After that, they bounce around some trends in the league before finishing up with an Overrated, Underrated, Favourite, Least Favourite. Today? They swap off of hockey and focus on fast food chains.

Friday Dec 02, 2022
Friday Dec 02, 2022
Alex is back after a week off of the podcast. Today, he has Jack Richardson making his return to the Last Word on Sens Podcast! Alex and Jack look over multiple Ottawa Senators issues, including the defence and lack of critical offence. Exploring why a 3-4-0 record just won't cut it as well as why it is frustrating they have been this poor. Both guys agree this team has shown potential for so much more, including on their latest road trip.
However, at the end of the day the consistency just hasn't been there. They then switch their focus to how the Sens may handle the goalie situation with 12 games in their next 21 days. The workload will undoubtedly be split between the two of them. Finally, they talk about Alex Formenton and why he doesn't have a contract. As well as why it is important to remember the investigation that is ongoing.

Wednesday Nov 30, 2022
Wednesday Nov 30, 2022
Alex and Chace are back with another week of content. Today, Chace is recording from an airport because he is on the way to SEAHAC 2022, which is a hockey analytics conference. However, the guys still have a ton to discuss that happened this week. Including some NHL trades that saw Ryan Reaves get moved, as well as Connor Timmins.
The guys give their thoughts on both and what it means for all four teams involved. After that, they discuss Auston Matthews and Alex asks a question about is he really playing worse than last season or is it just a lazy narrative driven by shooting percentage. From there, they look at some teams that have had struggling goalies. Discussing whether even stats people don't put enough into how rare elite goaltending can be.
Finally, the guys team up for a game of name that captain. Going through all 32 teams and naming their captain. Can you beat their score of 31/32? Also, the one they forget is pretty surprising.

Wednesday Nov 23, 2022
Wednesday Nov 23, 2022
Alex and Chace are back with another episode. Today, they take a look at what has been happening around the NHL over the past week—starting with the New Jersey Devils and their insane winning streak. Currently, they sit at 13 wins in a row. A 14th win would beat their franchise record of 13. The guys break down whether or not they should go "all in" this season and how well they are built for the future.
The team the Devils need to be for game 14 would be the Leafs. And news came in today that the Toronto Maple Leafs defence took yet another hit. That is now Jake Muzzin, Morgan Rielly, and T.J. Brodie all out for an extended period of time. The guys discuss what this means for Toronto as well as a unique opportunity it will provide. They also preview the game odds using their partners at BetStamp!
Finally, Alex and Chace discuss a few other teams around the league that have been streaking one way or the other. As well as ask the question, is this it for the Washington Capitals?

Thursday Nov 17, 2022
Thursday Nov 17, 2022
Alex and Chace are back with another week of content. This week, they start by taking a look at some teams that have struggled early on in this NHL season. Which teams may be on their way to battling for last? Specifically, should a team like the St. Louis Blues think about blowing it up? What does blowing it up even look like for them?
From there, they turn their attention to the Hockey Hall of Fame inductions that took place this week. The Sedins and Alex's favourite player growing up Daniel Alfredsson were a few of the names inducted. The guys also discuss next year's potential class which will very likely include Henrik Lundqvist.
Finally, they wrap the podcast up playing the career game. This is a game where Chace tries to guess who a player is based solely off of where they played in their career. He can use hints if needed as well. Can you guess the player before Chace does?

Wednesday Nov 16, 2022
Wednesday Nov 16, 2022
Alex is back with another week of Senators games in the book. Unfortunately, things still aren't very happy in Sens land. They finally snapped a long losing streak, only to lose once again. Alex highlights some issues with the roster currently and what Ottawa needs to do to fix it.
From there, Alicia Scodeller joins the podcast as the two talk about a bunch of topics. These topics include Thomas Chabot and his ice time and now concussion. How does the defence core survive without him? Plus, should DJ Smith's job be on the line? This team has been sputtering for a third straight year, will the coach be the one to blame? They also discuss Daniel Alfredsson going into the Hockey Hall of Fame and what it means for Sens fans.

Wednesday Nov 09, 2022
Wednesday Nov 09, 2022
Alex and Chace are back after taking a week off. Today, they look to catch up with everything that has happened in the first few weeks of the NHL season. With every team playing 10-14 games, we can finally start to truly see how everyone looks in the new season. However, before they do that, they need to discuss the Mitchell Miller saga from this week. Why it is clear he hasn't learned anything and why it was a gross attempt by a team to hope they could get away with picking a player up and avoiding backlash.
After that, they can switch to some Ottawa Senators news. Yes, the team is for sale. Alex quickly discusses what that means for the City and the Franchise. As well, during the podcast, it was announced that the Sens would be retiring Chris Neil's number 25. Alex and Chace try to wrap their heads around that one live.
From there, they bounce around the league looking at other topics, including some hot starts. As well as what the Toronto Maple Leafs and their fanbase have been up to.

Ottawa Senators for Sale, Jersey Retirement, and Meltdown on Ice
Wednesday Nov 09, 2022
Wednesday Nov 09, 2022
Alex is back after a very tough stretch for the Ottawa Senators. When he last recorded, they were fresh off of winning four of five at home and things felt good in Senators' land. However, an 0-5 stretch has things absolutely down the drain. How bad is it? They are already seven points out of a playoff spot and it is only November. Any further and the team is in serious trouble of yet another fully lost season with nothing but a few "feel good" stories at the end. Something everyone admitted wasn't acceptable.
Alex goes through the five-game stretch and dissects what he liked and disliked. From there, he switches to the massive news of the week. The team is for sale! With the Ottawa Senators for sale come multiple questions. It is already clear they intend to stay in Ottawa, but who will buy them? Ryan Reynolds has been in the media lately saying he would love it, and Alex discusses that option. Finally, Alex gives his thoughts on the announcement that Chris Neil will have his jersey retired.
