OTPP: Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens Trades, Barry Trotz Decision, NHL Draft

Last Word on Sports is proud to present their hockey podcast, On the Power Play with Ben and Colton. Join Ben Kerr and Colton Praill each week as they take a look at the Hockey World focusing on the big issues of the NHL and elsewhere.

OTPP: Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens Trades

The boys start off by looking at the series of trades that sees Mike Hoffman head to the Florida Panthers, a bunch of draft picks head to the San Jose Sharks, and Mikkel Boedker end up with the Ottawa Senators. Did Pierre Dorion misplay the situation? Who is the next player out of Ottawa? How did Doug Wilson get such a steal? Why is Colton on a rant?

The boys also look at the Montreal Canadiens sending Alex Galchenyuk to the Arizona Coyotes for Max Domi. Is this trade enough to get Ben to match Colton's rant? Why does Marc Bergevin keep making these June blockbusters and why does he keep failing to address the Habs biggest needs? What is next in Montreal? What does Domi bring to the table? How important is the fact he grew up as the son of Tie Domi in a market like Toronto?

The boys also look at Artemi Panarin. What is he worth on the market? What does the news that he is available for trade mean for the other wingers on the market? Does it change things for the free agents like James van Riemsdyk, Ilya Kovalchuk, and James Neal?

Barry Trotz Decision

Head coach Barry Trotz is leaving the Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals. Where does he go next? Does it affect John Tavares decision? Does he go to the new Seattle franchise? Is there any club willing to fire their coach to hire him?

NHL Draft

The boys discuss the upcoming NHL Draft. Who is overrated? Underrated? Who do the Habs take at 3? The Sens at 4? Who is an unknown prospect to watch?

All that and more as we go On the Power Play.
