This Week's Show
NHL general managers did not wait for July 1st to get their off-season shopping started. The big moves started on June 29th as there were two big trades and a massive free-agent signing. The Edmonton Oilers traded Taylor Hall to the New Jersey Devils for Adam Larson. This was quickly followed by the Montreal Canadiens trading P.K. Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber. Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Lightning locked up Steven Stamkos to an eight-year deal. What do the boys think of the moves?
On July 1st, teams spent money like it was going out of style. Andrew Ladd, Dan Hamhuis, Kyle Okposo, Eric Staal, Milan Lucic, Frans Nielsen, Loui Eriksson, David Backes, and Troy Brouwer were just some of the names finding new homes. Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens shocked many by bringing Alexander Radulov back from the KHL. Who got good value and who overspent in the frenzy? The boys let give you their take.
Some other big names such as Kris Russell, Justin Schultz, Alex Tanguay, Jiri Hudler, and Vadim Shipachyov remain on the market. Where do the boys think they will go, and who is the best remaining free agent?
All this and more as we go On The Powerplay.
